Today we are learning about artist Annie Pootoogook and her experience in the North. Students will create a piece inspired by her story telling using her preferred medium of pencil crayons 🖍️ and watercolour paper.

The Let Grow Play Club is the easiest way to give kids a chunk of time to play together without phones. Think of it as a wildlife preserve, except what's being preserved is an old-fashioned, pre-phone childhood!

Another wonderful Independence Project for the Let Grow program! This is a great way to allow students to learn new skills, build self confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences away from social media and screens. So proud!

With the help of #AI students are creating covers for their novels on the Book Creator Team 🌈. Students reimagined the life of one of their favourite characters if the Taliban had never taken over Afghanistan. The creativity has been wonderful to see!

Children learn important skills and life lessons from playing with each other. Some of the skills include conflict resolution and problem solving. One way you can encourage play, is through a Play Club!

Our #LetGrow tree is growing! Students, went grocery shopping, cooked meals, walked their dogs a little farther and made BBQ! The Let Grow programs encourages students to find meaningful experiences away from screens, while building independence. More to come!

Estimating and measuring the area of various rectangles in the schoolyard. Here students are measuring the area of the #OPAL shed using their Micro:bit Educational Foundation. Students coded their #Microbits to measure every meter they walk. Great way to spend some time outside today!
