The story of subjects

When I talk with colleagues about what they hope for their subjects in terms of the impact on pupil’s learning, there’s sometimes a pause. Then a file gets opened, usually on a laptop and some complicated blurb gets pulled up.

I have always thought of 4 as my lucky number. I was born on the 4th of the month, and that’s how it works, right? I’m pretty sure it is.

I turn 44 today. Two 4s, which I’m assuming means that this will be a lucky year. Perhaps twice as lucky as my last lucky year, which must…

I have two brothers. One of them has cancer, like me. The other one is really good at push-ups and has been doing a hundred of them a day in April to raise money for Cancer Research 🌻

Yesterday we marked #EarthDay2024 across our schools. This year we began to use Lyfta to support learning across our schools and opportunities like the one below show how valuable it is in opening up our children to new experiences they otherwise wouldn’t get.

#PrimaryRocks, our Director of Education Dr Harriet Marshall 🌍 worked with Egerton Primary on an action research project which showed that children were 40% more motivated to write following a series of Lyfta lessons, when compared the pre-Lyfta baseline.
