Lunar southern highlands from tonight. In the center is Curtius, 95km ⌀ with a nice central peak and a deep cleft in the rim.

Above Curtius is 71km ⌀ Zach, which has four almost equally sized craters in a square pattern around the rim.

180 MCT @ 2700mm. ASI 224MC.

A pic of Jupiter and the Moon I took back in January. Jupiter’s moons included if you look closely. I’ve not had the scope out much lately so I thought I’d drag this out of the back catalogue

Better late than never. 🙂🌤️

Shortly before sunset 🌅 the Sun finally shows up and beautiful are within reach behind the cloudy horizon.

Catching the moment, spontaneously, uninvited, is always a challenge, but a sweet one. CS, 16.4.2024

The next Clair Obscur Effect is later today.

'Two Bright Stars' are seen when the two peaks of Mons Pico (α and β) are lit by the sun whilst the bases are still in Shadow on Mare Imbrium. This effect can be seen for a couple of hours around 8pm UK (3pm East Coast US)
