Grèim an Diabhail is the name we use in Staffin for Devil's-bit Scabious (Succisa pratensis).

It was said that the devil bit away at the root of this plant as he envied the medicinal benefits it gave to mankind.

One of those special places: Staffin Museum on Skye. Dugie Ross started it as a teenager. Today it houses a charming collection of dinosaur tracks, fossil bones and shells & Highland historical artefacts.
A must-visit for anyone on the Scottish dinosaur trail!
