Perfect early start to Resurrection Sunday ✝️ …praying for Baltimore City at PROCLAIM! 🙌🏾
Blessed to pray for education with Janiya Howard (Western HS) and James Carderella (teacher at Commodore to College) 🙏🏾
The tragic loss of members of our Baltimore City Public Schools community is always hard. We will be there to support our families in this challenging time. As a wife and mother, my prayers go out specifically for Christ’s comfort and healing to wrap around these families. 💔 🙏🏾
Go Team Baltimore City Public Schools! CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉👏🏾🤩🤩🤩 We see you EWHS RED STORM! and BaltimorePolyAlumni Poly!
Baltimore, please join me in congratulating our Baltimore City Public Schools class of 2024 winter graduates! Remember, this is not the end, but just the beginning of your next chapter. Keep up the amazing work and know that all of Baltimore is extremely proud of each and every one of you.
“'[I’ve heard from] community people, from young people themselves, that [schools] have to go deep on building back relationships again,' Sonja Santelises said. Students need to know that at least one adult notices when they don’t come to school.'

Same here! Enjoyed my time this morning discussing Black history with Andrew Rotherham. Thanks for having me.
Kudos to Excel Academy @ Francis M. Wood HS #178 for the significant improvement in attendance during second quarter! 👏🏾👏🏾
Join Andrew Rotherham and Sonja Santelises next Friday at 10:30am for a conversation about why it's so hard to teach history today and how leaders at every level can help schools do better.

I love this week every year! Each day, we were blessed with student artists from across Baltimore City Public Schools . The “Red Storm Chorus” from EWHS was fabulous! 🤩 EWHS RED STORM!
Words from Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises: “I want you all to now that the progress we have made, you need to know people see it. I see you & we see what you do. You all are the reason we are moving on behalf of kids and families in baltimore city.” #heartoftheschools
'We have a program like Reading Partners, where every day, Baltimoreans can say I'd like to help a young person, and Reading Partners actually supports you in helping those young people.' - Sonja Santelises Baltimore City Public Schools
