This morning my son told me he no longer wants to be a vampire for Halloween “because there are no Black vampires”. This comment followed a celebration of black history at his school the day before.

Increased representation, less agency:
Representation in Hollywood of “Black actors increased by over 20% in 2022”.
But…
“the number of movies with Black stories at the forefront decreased by 16.7% (to make up only 5.3% of movies released in 2022).”
