In medieval times many monasteries and large houses had a PHYSIC GARDEN
filled with plants that could help with the smooth running of the household. This special place is today's #Southwell140 exhibit.

This striking patchwork window from fragments of medieval glass found in the Minster and made in 1920, is our 1st #Southwell140 object this week!
This is the only medieval glass window in the Minster. Much of England’s medieval stained glass was destroyed during the Reformation.

DONKEY CARVING 🫏
But look close up... this donkey either has a very flexible neck or one of the masons made a mistake! The carving is situated right of the Sanctuary.
