Judge Paula da Conceição Machatine Honwana was sworn in today as a Justice of the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone.

The Flame of Justice, in front of the Special Court’s Courthouse, was lit this morning by Justice Renate Winter, Judge of the RSCSL and former Judge of the SCSL Appeals Chamber.

The Closing Speaker for the RSCSL Legacy Conference is Mohamed Lamin Tarawally, Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

Panel 6: The Future of Residual and Investigative Mechanisms, moderated by Prof. Milena Sterio, expert in international law, leader of PILPG’s Thought Leadership Initiative, and Amb. Michael Imran Kanu, Permanent Representative of Sierra Leone to the United Nations.

One representative from each group presented Conference Outcomes. Moderated by RSCSL Prosecutor James C. Johnson.
