We're pleased to say that Martyrs Kirk, and the Thomson Reading Room, are open as usual, now that works have been completed.
Opening hours are 8:30am - 1:30am 7 days a week.

Why did the Library close early yesterday?

Simply put the building’s water supply shut down, which meant we couldn't stay open.

We know this is a busy and stressful time for many of you, and we of course apologise for the disruption.

The building is currently without water, and so cannot remain open.
Engineers are working to fix the problem, and we intend to be open again from 8 am tomorrow morning.
