Soon we will be working to verify signatures on 4 petitions for initiatives to be placed on the Nov ballot. We will check the name, address & signature on the petition are correct and that the signature “substantially conforms” with previous signatures of the registered voter.

Today is Administrative Professionals Day! We so appreciate all the hard work of our admins who do so much to keep the Election Board operating smoothly.

The Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County will hold a board meeting on Wed., April 24 at 3pm. The public is encouraged to attend this meeting, and those who wish to speak can complete a speaker request card which is available beginning at 2:45 p.m. on April 24.

Per Missouri Statute 115.427 - Persons seeking to vote in a public election shall establish their identity and eligibility to vote at the polling place or, at the office of the election authority by presenting a form of personal photo identification.

Per Missouri Statute 115.163 subsection 3 - The election authority shall send to each voter, except those who registered by mail and have not voted, a voter identification card no later than ninety days prior to the date of a primary or general election for federal office.

Per MO Stat. 115.179 The election authority shall have the registration records of all precincts in its jurisdiction canvassed every 2 yrs in accordance with subsect. 3 of sect. 115.163 and that it be completed no later than 90 days before primary or gen. election for fed office.

In April, several voters asked why we still send out voter IDs if they are unacceptable identification at the polls. While voter ID laws in MO have changed, the law requiring our office to send the IDs to voters has not. Voters received the ID as part of a canvass in fall 2023.

The public is invited to attend the random selection of polling locations and precincts used in the post-election manual recount of selected races and ballot issues. Missouri’s Code of State Regulations guides the manual recount process (15 CSR 30-10.110 Manual Recount).
