There are always the “ what if’s” after a baby dies. SIDS safe sleep messaging had pretty much the same concerns when it was first released but not now because no one is in control of the position they wake up in and supine sleep is a risk factor not a cause.

Bereaved parents often say “they allowed us to ...see and hold baby, ...bath baby...take baby home” This indicates where the ownership lies, and its NOT with parents. Agree ...banned the word “allow” and its synonyms
