For me, one of the biggest issues with #Heeramandi , among a few significant others, is the dance. Every actor trying to present Kathak, is so so stiff, with no grace, finesse or adaa. If your actor is playing a courtesan and cannot present the basic Kathak properly, get another.
Writer Moin Beg on how the world of Lahore’s courtesans and their crucial role in the Independence struggle led him to write the story of Heeramandi and the two decades it took before Sanjay Leela Bhansali brought it to life.

#Chamkila symbolises the dichotomy of Punjab- the co-existence of opposites where riot and revelry inhabit the same space. Partly to find sanity. Partly because its day today has always been so rooted in music & poetry #ExpressOpinion

AR Rahman's tunes for Chamkila are inventive in parts.. But it's out-and-out an Irshad Kamil triumph. The lyricist has successfully navigated the difficult terrain, allowing us to be in the sensory space that belongs to the lore of #Chamkila #MusicReview

In a chat with The Indian Express TM Krishna called the award a “humbling and special moment'. In 2015, he opted out of singing at the Music Academy after he felt that the December Music Season, was driven by “commodification” besides being “socially stifling” indianexpress.com/article/lifest…
In a very interesting decision by the themusicacademymadras , Carnatic classical vocalist T M Krishna has been conferred the prestigious Sangita Kalanidhi Samman, the highest recognition in Carnatic classical music.
Among the seven awards swept up by Christopher Nolan’s 'Oppenheimer' at the 96th Academy Awards on Monday was 39-year-old Swedish composer Ludwig Göransson’s prize for Best Original Score.

#PankajUdhas performed ghazals like light music, in a voice that didn’t have the refinement and virtuosity of the heavyweights like Mehdi Hassan or Ghulam Ali, or even Jagjit Singh. But he remained popular. For the accessibility of simple tunes & lyrics
