I know Brett Kahr as a sober and respectable guy. So it’s hard to imagine him driving a very drunk R.D. Laing to speak in Oxford - on the way knocking back Calvados and “insouciantly” smoking a joint (Laing, not Kahr).

3/3 Any therapist who is a member of a professional body is already constrained by ethical codes from this kind of malpractice. And without legally enforced regulation of title I can’t see how any bill could be drafted that would actually make a difference IMO.Thoughts?

2/3 I simply don’t think any bill which is aimed at ‘therapists’ could work in a context where anyone can call themselves that. If the bill is really aimed at religious groups and conversion‘practices’ - then that is going to need a huge rethink.

1/3Whilst the lack of vision or concern demonstrated in the King’s Speech from this government about dealing with the many problems we are facing was simply par for the course - the lack of a bill about conversion ‘therapy’ is unsurprising.
