Respect to sir Kevan Collins for sticking to his values.

If the actual Catch-up Tsar has no faith in the plans then why should parents and teacher have any faith. Recovery on the cheap, soundbites with no real vision or substance.

Watch out for non-ITTE providers who are suddenly promoting themselves for teacher training. They see the ITT market review as an opportunity to make money. They’re asset-stripping the skills and knowledge built up over decades by teachers who’ve benefited from our ITTE sector.

If the ITT market review removes the levels of expertise and experience from teacher education that universities bring to teacher ed I fear the teaching profession in future will be significantly undermined. Here’s one example from Carnegie Education UCET leedsbeckett.ac.uk/blogs/carnegie…

Put your water trays away people. We can't possibly let children discover the ways that things sink and float until they've acquired enough explicitly taught knowledge to be able to do practical work! What a dry and dull world Ofsted creates.

It is estimated that schools could lose thousands of pounds from this decision.

Alongside the EEF, we are calling on the government to reverse this decision to ensure that schools receive pupil premium funding for all eligible pupils.

Teacher Training in 38 countries vs. England.

No surprise that our teacher’s statutory offer for professional development is one of the lowest when compared to others. Our teachers deserve better...
