🇲🇹📉 Following FC Valletta's relegation for the first time in their 118-year history, the micro-state of Malta will be without a capital club next term.

That means the island is likely to be the only one of UEFA's 55 member countries without a capital club in the 2024/25 season.

For the first time in their 118-year history, Valletta have been relegated from Malta's top flight.

4-0 loss confirmed Valletta's demotion to the second tier.

It is an almighty fall for the Maltese giants, who have won 25 league titles, 14 FA Trophies & a record 13 Super Cups.

🇸🇲 A moment of reflection at Sweeper HQ as we mark 20 years without a win for San Marino, the world’s lowest-ranked country.

Their only previous win came vs. Liechtenstein on 28 April 2004, two decades ago today, making it the longest-ever winless run in international football.

🇲🇹 Maltese second-tier champions Melita, based in the eastern town of St. Julians, are on a parade to celebrate their promotion to the Premier League.

We thought top-tier champs Ħamrun Spartans were the ones parading, only to chase after the bus & find out it was Melita instead!

🇲🇹 It is a huge day for us to witness in the Maltese title race as leaders Ħamrun Spartans take on Floriana at the Ta’ Qali National Stadium in the penultimate round.

A win for Ħamrun will retain their title, while a draw or a Floriana victory takes the race to the final day.

🇨🇱🚢 Chile’s oldest football club, second-tier Santiago Wanderers, are en route to the remote Juan Fernández Islands for an historic match.

Aided by the Chilean navy, they are making the 756km journey by boat to play a representative team from the archipelago in the Copa Chile
