R.I.P. Wallis “Wally” Harris, NHL’s first Director of Officials who worked the historic 1975 New Year’s Eve Canadiens-Red Army game. A huge, influential presence on & off the ice, Wally died in hospital last night, age 88. I have a broad appreciation of his career coming shortly.
