Our Chair @CJ_Dinenage asked @MusicVenueTrust CEO @MarkDavyd to quantify the impact on the music industry and local communities.

🎵 At roundtable events in Manchester and Westminster, we heard from grassroots music venue owners and operators across the country about the challenges they are facing.

On March 26, we will hear about what should be done to stop further venues closing: committees.parliament.uk/work/8227/gras…

This tax relief is important for theatres and orchestras and I fully support them getting it.

But it is incredibly elitist. The terms of it make no sense at all when the UK’s contemporary musicians cannot afford to tour for exactly the same reasons of cost.
