It's important to feel heard and to BE heard. We spoke with adolescents about their experiences having surgery:
1️⃣Adolescents value their autonomy in decision making
2️⃣Repetition helps
3️⃣Caregivers and family still have a role
4️⃣Transparency is important

Adolescents can occasionally feel like outsiders when discussions are occurring about issues relating to their own health. Surgical care can be particularly challenging
