Everton’s no. 8 in the title-winning 1938/39 side: Stan Bentham. After several years on the fringes, Stan excelled at inside-right. Amazingly industrious - a real team player. Became a coach at EFC in the 1950s. He’s in Broken Dreams on Toffeeopolis :

The no. 7 in Everton's championship-winning team of 1938/39: Torry Gillick.
The mercurial winger was in the form of his life as a scorer & goal creator in 1938/39. He returned to Glasgow Rangers in 1945. Read more in Broken Dreams, out with Toffeeopolis

He won England honours on the back of his form. Considered finished in 1946, went on have huge success at Arsenal. Later, a MCFC managerial great.

Alex Stevenson & Billy Cook, the Irishmen in the Toffees’ league-winning squad of 1938/39. Glasgow-raised Cook arrived at EFC from Celtic in 1932. Tough but talented, he later coached in Peru & Scandinavia. More info in Broken Dreams, via Toffeeopolis :
