Everton’s no. 8 in the title-winning 1938/39 side: Stan Bentham. After several years on the fringes, Stan excelled at inside-right. Amazingly industrious - a real team player. Became a coach at EFC in the 1950s. He’s in Broken Dreams on Toffeeopolis :

In Everton’s title-winning 1938/39 season, the Toffees lost to the Bees in London but won 2-1 at Goodison. Tommy Lawton, seen here trying a spot of croquet, scored twice. For more info, read Broken Dreams: Everton, The War and Goodison’s Lost Generation.

Thomas came up with the Toffeeopolis logos for us. A really talented creator - it’s well worth visiting his stall on Everton matchdays.
