This lawsuit is especially significant given recent data uncovered by Harbor Institute for Immigrant & Economic Justice on the housing crisis and overcrowding in the city of Garden Grove.
The approval for the development of the Nickelodeon Hotel has been sent back to the City of Garden Grove after VietRISE and residents of GG, who are members of UNITE HERE Local 11, filed a lawsuit against the City and the developers. In Feb 2024 the developers and City agreed to settle.
