URNU Solent HMS Warrior Thank you very much for organising this. A great night was had by all, especially Sussex alumni from the early 1990s.
Last night, we hosted our first Alumni Dinner since the amalgamation of Southampton and Sussex URNUs. With a total of 240 alumni and OCs in attendance, the dinner on HMS Warrior was indeed an excellent night to remember. BZ to our Social Sec and all involved in the planning!

In the first week of Easter, OCs visited Northern Ireland. The week was packed full with geographical and military interests, including visits to Giant’s Causeway, the Marble Arch Caves, Derry, and Belfast. Many thanks to URNU Belfast for their hospitality and TOs for organising.
OCs have been busy again over the weekend at URNU Cambridge where they participated in inter-regional challenges such as leadership exercises before trialing the Hold Fast Challenge yesterday morning. BZ all!

Many thanks to HMS Puncher for hosting OCs on their Torquay to Portsmouth leg last week.
OCs were able to support and experience lots of navigation, a MOB drill and tours of the ship for the public in Brixham. A great opportunity indeed!
OCs testing their teamwork and balancing skills yesterday at New Forest Activities! A great day was had by all with several leadership drills and friendly competition in laser quests with varying command aims.

Last Saturday, URNU Solent were joined by OCs from URNU London at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. The day started with an intense session of Laser Combat, and included a visit to HMS Victory, the Mary Rose, and Submarine museum. Much fun was had and knowledge gained! Thanks to all involved.
CMR, Commodore Jo Adey, joined us last week for her first formal visit to the unit, meeting personnel from across the Royal Naval Reserve, Royal Marines Reserve and URNU Solent.

Over the weekend, 12 OCs attended the a regional CLM weekend at HMS President.
It was an amazing two days filled with diverse PLTs such as rescuing casualty dummies and preventing laboratory meltdowns.
A huge thank you to URNU London for organising and hosting.
The URNU EE region CLM weekend HMS President has commenced! OCs have been broken down into syndicates to brush up on some skills ready for PLTs starting this afternoon.

Last week some of our OCs spent time on RFA Mounts Bay in the Lyme Bay area. The students were fortunate enough to see and support various training drills as well as participating in the Ship’s rotating watches.
The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity along with the Royal Navy have spared two tonnes of waste from the landfill with its unique recycling project.♻️
The programme takes obsolete/out of date RN life-saving equipment and converts it into bags and accessories.

A recent deployment with HMS Explorer from Grimsby to Lowestoft saw OC Trimmer learning several skills such as buoyage, helmsmanship and how to cook 11 steaks at once!
An excellent opportunity well enjoyed.
