Other than the financial boost, morale was high at the time and by all accounts, the locals enjoyed having these visitors. The sailors were very friendly and loved music, would burst into song at the drop of a hat. #ullapoolklondykers
The flour mill on Isle Martin, c1930. The mill operated in the old herring curing station which had been built in the 1770s. There was a light railway running from the jetty to the mill which was removed after the mill closed down
