My reflection on UConn’s 5th national championship:

Agreed, John. I thought all three did a good job tonight. Great crew ended another great season the right way.

If I was still the NC I would tell the officials: I’m proud of you tonight. You met the ebbs and flows. Called what you had to call. Very fair at both ends. No glaring errors. Team that played best, won.

Hard to believe the season is over. Thx for letting me into your TV rooms and arenas. It’s fun and a challenge to interact w/so many in real time. Some late nights. Some cramped fingers but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Hope we are all together again in November! Good night.

Quick 1 Shining Moment story: in August 99 I was diagnosed w/ throat cancer. My goal was to make it to 2000 version of OSM. Made it. Still very emotional for me 23 years later. Always opened National Clinics with that year’s version.

The UConn men are now ...

🔹 And have won 5 national titles in their 6 Final Fours

Wow.

My favorite Dan Hurley story:

Rose Hill, 2018. He and URI beat Fordham comfortably, and after the game, I’m BSing with him. Unprompted, he says, “Man, I was a real asshole my first year in this league. No wonder I didn’t have any friends!”

He has a national championship now.

With tonight’s national championship victory, UConn has joined a prestigious club in men’s college basketball. 🔥
