Vassili Bristol Tree Forum 🍃💚🍃 As I mentioned at the start, in my verbal statement I was focusing only on the planning conditions aspect of the proposal as opposed to the many other issues I discussed in my written submission - including the trees.

Vassili the proposal to build on a Zone 3 flood plain is pretty shocking in itself. There is no certainty on how quickly global warming increases sea levels, and no guarantees that flood wall funding will be found and delivered. It will set a precedent for Western Harbour floodplain devt

Patrick McAllister🌱 This was a wonderful planting scheme now to be chainsawed. The person who planted them made a statement to the committee.

Basically there is no point planting trees in Bristol because all will be removed for one reason or another. @bristoltreefora twitter.com/martr101/statu…

Born Free Foundation Ian Redmond Ian Ian Redmond , you will remember the terribly sad polar bear at Bristol Zoo, pacing back and forth across its concrete. Always the same number of steps in the same places, lifting its head at the end to make the turn. Year after tragic year.

Charlie Watts A decade ago Bristol Tree Forum 🍃💚🍃 suggested that we should put the avenue into Filton Avenue. And get funding to turn it into a tree lined street. At the time there was no interest from Bristol City Council Maybe we can revive the idea to plant large-form street trees?

Vassili Patrick McAllister🌱 One small ray of sunshine is that the committee ordered that the sites where the off-site 162 replacement trees are to be planted have to be identified before the final Grant can be agreed.

This is a first for Bristol and an important precedent for all similar applications.
