It was brought to our attention that UGC INDIA has issued a guideline to universities and institutions to share this message. We condemn this move which makes all the higher education centres tools for propaganda.

We condemn the appearance of this propaganda on the website of IISER Kolkata, also naming a politician explicitly. At a time where there is vaccine inequality and accessibility issues of the vaccine portal, this is insensitive. Institutes must also not become billboards.

I am seriously baffled that price rise and inflation have become complete non-issues in Indian discourse today. In the old days, they used to bring down governments. What has changed?
