Presenting my poster at #COV12 🇬🇹 I explore the formation of an obsidian facies found within a Plinian air fall deposit. It was great to discuss what the contributing processes might be telling us about eruption transitions and glass behaviour! Thanks again to Yorkshire Geological Society !
It was Panum Crater Day for our MSci students and another chance to marvel at the myriad textures of ultraproximal, rheomorphic ignimbrites Durham Earth Science Dr Fabian Wadsworth Annabelle Foster Hugh Tuffen
My poster is up in X2 for #EGU23 !! Come along to find out how I use watercolour to improve my outcrop sketching and have a flip through my sketchbook! 🎨🖌️ I'll be there from 16:15-18:00 ⏰ Aberdeen Geology & Geophysics EGU Clare Bond (Prof.)
New paper! 🌋
How does the structure of a silicic volcanic vent change during its evolution? When do tuffisites form? And what role do they play?

In Manchester for a week of XCT with Natural Environment Research Council & Kate Dobson… thanks for the tour of the x-ray labs, Dr Elizabeth Evans 🎗️🐷👑! Looking forward to processing some data tomorrow 💪
New paper alert! 🚨 Excited to share my first paper presenting my Masters work. It provides a new age scale for an Antarctic ice core which can help regional climate studies. Cambridge Earth Sciences British Antarctic Survey 🐧 MDPI Dorothea E. Moser Daniel Emanuelsson
Silicic magma forms by the assembly and welding of pyroclasts in the shallow vent - Dr Fabian Wadsworth presents his cryptic fragmentation model to a keen assembly of volcanologists at #iavcei2023 Featuring beautiful artwork by Annabelle Foster!
#iavcei2023 come check out my poster on sintered ring fault conduits! …And why we don’t think pseudotachylytes occur along caldera ring faults👀👀
Proud PhD supervisor moment: what a great #vmsg2023 talk from Holly Unwin on tuffisites, with useful insights into their efficiency as outgassing pathways 👍👍 ENVISION Lancaster Environment Centre BGS Volcanology
The low sun sets the Durham Cathedral stone alight every winter afternoon. What a perfect view from our postgraduate office space! 📸 Annabelle Foster
