Great to be at the National Housing Federation conference in Liverpool today, speaking alongside Rhys Moore and the frankly wonderful Miranda Green
Harrowing and tragic findings. Today more children are homeless in temp accom than ever before - 142,490 in total
It's utterly shameful to allow kids to grow up in these conditions
This crisis can be solved & we can end child homelessness but to do so, we need a #PlanForHousing
Three clear commitments from Mike Amesbury MP at #EndingHomelessnessTogether Lobby in Parliament:
1️⃣Cross dept, long-term strategy to end all forms of homelessness
2️⃣Commitment to boosting supply of social homes and re-boot planning
3️⃣Focus on homelessness prevention
Great piece of analysis from National Housing Federation Shelter. Investing in social housing will create a much needed boost to the economy whilst tackling the housing crisis head on. Building more #SocialHomes is a no brainer!
Really good series and a pleasure to co tribute. Thanks Tortoise & Lloyds Banking Group for the deep dive on housing. The grim stats out today show just how needed this work is. Brilliant to hear Susan Aktemel Rhys Moore and so many other inspiring experts.
Powerful speech from Keir Starmer tonight - talking about the scandal of child homelessness and the importance of a decent home as a foundation in life.
Pleased to take part in this excellent series. I talk about the need for a long term housing plan, a stable policy environment, and the impact of building safety costs on the social housing sector. #ukhousing Thanks to Lloyds Banking Group for taking this on.
Delighted to be speaking at Board Excellence in Housing, 1-2 February in Manchester. This is going to be one of our most collaborative #NHFBoards at a key time for our sector. invt.io/1txbuvbsvu9
Today, ahead of #GE24 , we set out what a long-term #PlanForHousing could achieve, providing #AffordableHomes for the millions of people in need.
To fix the #HousingCrisis short-term thinking on housing must end.

In case you missed it: the government allocated £6bn in funding to help cut energy use and bills in a million homes from 2025 to 2028. The £6bn has been allocated through several pots of grant funding, some of which is applicable to National Housing Federation members: housing.org.uk/news-and-blogs…
