Richard Webby went to his local store to get milk, thinking it could be a negative control for his work on .

It ended up being positive. Didn't stop him from keeping the milk in his fridge, but lots of questions about how widespread this is.

The testing approach to H5N1 in cattle (in the link) needs to change substantially. USDA APHIS may be doing what it can now with minimal resources, but testing needs to expand, get simpler, more available and transparent.
