Main roads are maiming roads when it comes to pedestrian and cycle casualties. It why authorities all over the world are setting 20mph and 30km/h as the right speed limit where motors mix with people. And the heavier the traffic the bigger the saving of lives and bodies.

Children walking to school is a key indicator of mobility equality in the public spaces between buildings we call streets. And it's so much better for 500,000 children in Wales with a default 20mph urban/ village speed limit. #20splenty to make places better places to be.

Change makers should actually be emboldened by this kind of thing. It’s a sign that there’s nothing particularly wrong with *your* scheme. You didn’t design it wrong or communicate badly. It’s just that literally anything anyone ever does to reduce traffic is met with hysteria

For a few decades these residential streets were busy rat runs and most space was crammed with parked cars. Now all through motor traffic is diverted elsewhere and most of the space is now used for greenery, cycle parking and a playground

As much as it's great there's money being spent on transport stuff, it really plays into critic's hands that it's a money making scheme.
