Team owner & engine builder Mark Smith owned TriStar Motorsports and Pro Motor Engines. Ernie Irvan won his first superspeedway race in Smith's ARCA car in 1989. Bobby Hamilton won the 1991 NASCAR Rookie of the Year award in Smith's car.
