Whitley Award winner Purnima Devi Barman, members of the ‘Hargila Army’, and their daughters were invited to the NKTV studio today for an hour-long talk show interview to discuss her Award for her incredible movement to empower women through protecting the Greater Adjutant Stork.

Speech training is an important part of building confidence before the Whitley Award winners' face their big moment of addressing the 500-strong in-person audience at London's Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). 2024 Winners received coaching from consultant Olha Madylus with support from the WFN team.

Congratulations to Kuenzang Dorji, a PhD student in Anthropology & Archaeology, winning the 2024 Whitley Award for his project 'Solutions to Protect Golden Langur Monkeys amid Climate Change.' The project explores Bhutan's human-wildlife conflicts. bit.ly/4aagvR8

For wildlife biologist, Kuenzang Dorji, who had been studying the primate in the context of human-wildlife context, it was more than luck when he was awarded the 2024 Whitley Award by the UK-based conservation charity, the Whitley Fund for Nature (WFN), on March 1 in London.

Each year, the Whitley Awards recognize conservation leaders all around the world. Congrats to Dr. Aristide Kamla for this well-deserved recognition! Aristide graduated from our MENTOR-Manatee Program in 2018 & we’ve been celebrating his accomplishments ever since!
