What happened at UCLA last night was outrageous. That was no counter-protest, and the horrible violence undermines students’ right to peaceful protest free from the threat of harm. Solidarity with students across the nation in their call to end the horrors in Gaza. Ceasefire now.

As a double bruin, I’m outraged. Students have a right to peacefully protest without fear of mace, projectile fireworks or physical violence. The attacks by counterprotestors are abhorrent. I stand with UCLA students who continue to demand a divestment from the horrors in Gaza.

A city of 4 million+ people is having just ONE day of public comment and it’s in-person during the middle of the work day? We need REAL participatory budgeting—but in the meantime, pull up to Council Chambers tomorrow & let leadership know where you want your tax dollars spent✊🏽
