It's not the patient's duty to convince the healthcare professional that they're ill. Once there's reliance on 'convincing' for a health condition to be acknowledged, inequalities follow. Because the ability and capacity to convince are heavily reliant on pre-existing privilege.

Here's a hot tip: Whenever you see something and think, 'Who is this for?! Who could possibly be this lazy?!' Please know that you are looking at an accessibility device for disabled people that the company wouldn't turn a profit on if they didn't market it to abled people too.

A very handy guide to plain language summaries of publications. Quote: 'The use of PLS carries the potential to disseminate the news and impact of novel research findings faster by allowing science media or policy and governance professionals to engage with content more readily'
