As a former union organizer, I understand what being held hostage by multi-billion dollar corporations is like. I won’t be bullied by Uber and Lyft, and neither will our Council or the workers we’re fighting for.

Mayor Frey has supported a model that set the per minute wages for rideshare drivers at $0.35. Labor and Industry recommended $0.49 per minute. That $0.14 difference adds up to $8.40 per hour.

That’s how much our Mayor was willing to exploit immigrant workers to keep Uber and Lyft happy.
