Soil N mineralization involves an upstream cascade of depolymerization rxn, largely amino-N (i.e., peptides, amino sugars).
1. Are enzyme activities that catalyze N depolymerization sensitive to pH? Yes.
2. Are currently assumed pH optima correct? No.
