Absolutely brilliant. Look at the colour!
Imagine breaking up the grey concrete jungle with this π Manchester City Council
THIS is kind of thinking we need in Manchester city centre! Visionary presentation from Simon Ward (Atkins' Urban Design Lead, at Future of Ancoats event hosted by LI North West) on how ex-Central Retail Park could become a people's park, as per campaign by local residents 1/3
I wrote this last summer for Red Pepper, now published online. After recent events, especially Trees Not Cars MCR court victory, it feels more relevant than ever redpepper.org.uk/why-planning-iβ¦

1/2 SHAKE UP TIME!
Will Manchester News MEN be writing a spotlight piece on EVERY COUNCILLOR before the May elections, so we can see HOW THEY HAVE VOTED & what they've ACHIEVED for the people they represent?
If not we plan to do this ourselves Manchester Labour π #Transparency #LocalGovernment

Thx for the acknowledgement @AbMarcia4 Manchester Labour π candidate for Ancoats/Beswick
Your leader doesn't agree with you on this. If you live in Ancoats you can walk to Phillips Park or Mayfield Park (privately owned & not yet built)!
How do you plan to help bring about this change?
The tragedy is that this was avoidable. If they had done a decent consultation. If they had listened when Labour councillors had said 'do a decent consultation.'
This is the bitter fruit of arrogance, contempt for democracy, stupidity. #RealScrutinyNow
