It’s a pleasure to be helping Coventry to launch its new climate strategy tonight. The city has already halved its carbon emissions since 2000 - doing the other half would cut its energy bill in half & help tackle fuel poverty, create jobs, improve public health etc… PCAN (Place-based Climate Action Network)

Our Co-Director Andy Gouldson says: “We can’t wait for national government to take the lead, we need to show what can be done regionally.

“We’re decarbonising at 3-4% per year but we need to do more than 10% per year to hit our 2038 net zero target.”

We have today written to Drax to request a meeting to consider their sustainability policies and practices, particularly when it comes to the sourcing of the wood pellets that they produce in North America, and their alignment with our principles and commitments.
