Today we wrote on a sheet of paper against our foreheads and then used that image to talk about our progress on our papers. Good times 😂

Today we just looked at the opening few words of EVERY sentence of a sample argument and it was cool to see S’s be able to pick out signal words and notice the claims and purpose of each paragraph.

Overheard at peer mentoring: “I can’t wait until I can grow a beard, so I can braid it like a Viking.” 😇 Upperclassmen volunteering their time to support and build relationships with 9th graders is essential to shifting school culture.

Opening envelopes is fun! Today we’re examining videos, memes, quotes, poems, and websites to learn about the ideas and issues that we will see in the AP Seminar stimulus materials. It’s my favorite pre-reading strategy.
