Very excited to see the intial release of Jolt! Here's a slide from my upcoming Eurocrypt talk on Lasso summarizing the (arguably underexplored branch of) zkSNARK research that led to JOLT, a simple and fast zkVM!

Today we released Jolt, our new zkVM! While we've highlighted its performance characteristics, I want to show off its incredible developer experience. Using Jolt is as simple as adding #[jolt::provable] to your Rust functions.

Last year, the Jolt paper, authored by Arasu Arun, Srinath Setty, and Justin Thaler was released, heralding a novel zkVM architecture built on the Lasso lookup argument. Sam Ragsdale, Arasu Arun, ncitron.eth and I have been grinding for the last several months to turn it into a reality.
