History Club have been discovering the myths and the history of the Great Wall of China. They made these awesome 3D pictures of the wall snaking across China.

Year 1 felt the heat during their trip to Tropical World. They saw lots of different animals that live all across the world. They particularly enjoyed watching the stingray, crocodile and monkeys. It was also fun getting 'chased' by the enormous butterflies!

Year 2 really enjoyed their trip to Cannon Hall Farm yesterday - from the tractor ride to watching the baby goats (kids!) race each other. We can't thank @cannonhallfarm enough! 😊

History Club have been looking at the origins of Chinese writing, which dates back over 3500 years.

History Club are studying Ancient China. They did some beautiful scroll art inspired by the Qing Ming Festival Scroll painted in 1085.

#WorldBookDay2024 was celebrated in KS2 by a visit from the wonderful Phil Earle. This was Phil's second visit to Spring Bank and he never fails to inspire our children read even more widely and to write creatively. It was a fabulous afternoon - thank you, Phil!

On Monday, Year 3 were treated to an exciting afternoon with Neurosurgeon Louise Saukila. The children were fascinated to hear about their brains! They all say a great big thank you!

Year 3 had a visit from Dr Lindsay Bennet to talk about her job as a Meteorologist. It was very exciting and the children got to carry out some weather experiments! @AtmosSciencem Atmospheric Measurement & Observation Facility Lindsay Bennett

Something wild was going on at Spring Bank Primary School with Smriti Halls this morning! KS1 and Reception found Elephants in their Kitchens, talked about how we can care for our planet and topped it off with a good old sing-along. They had a fantastic time! #WorldBookDay2024

Last half term in art, Year 1 were looking at colour mixing and the work of Kandinsky. They then created their own Kandinsky inspired artwork using cold colours.

As part of STEM week Year 5 and Reception came together to 'Beat the Flood'. They had lots of fun working in teams to build a floodproof home and were very successful!

History Club are exploring French history. We discussed how Louis XIV called himself the Sun King and used the sun as a symbol to make himself look powerful and majestic.
