The world has now built about 4,000,000,000 solar panels.

Solar panel production has been highly, highly optimized and automated.

The small-scale and modularity of solar panels is the secret sauce that has driven down its cost and ensured its future as a major energy source.

It is abundantly clear that most of the people harping on “reliable electricity” have no idea what makes electricity reliable.

I was in Thunder Bay (Northwestern Ontario, Canada) over the weekend.
I saw the articles about how the boreal forest is dying.
I thought I was prepared.
I was NOT.

The irony is that Tesla never intended to build a moat, or competitive advantage but because they innovate faster and cut cost more than anyone else, they unintentionally did and when Tesla gave away all the patents for free, invited other automakers to use Supercharger network

BYD sells EVs in the West for *more than double* the price in China!

Why?
Because even then, it's competitive.

Expect very very cheap EVs in the future that ICE cars simply can't compete with.

The age of the ICE is over.

Chris Colose I attended a Steve Schneider lecture in the 1990s where he showed mainstream climatologists acknowledged a much larger error range than the denialist climatologists. So the mainstream was more skeptical even of their own personal predictions.

Good news! There are many qualified climate experts who donate their time on social media, doing public outreach and education.

Follow them! Generous experts always beat “influencers” on these complex, nuanced topics.

My favorites include Prof. Katharine Hayhoe Zeke Hausfather Carbon Brief

Just for fun I'm going to challenge one, no, two, fundamental assumptions which underlie global ecosystem catastrophe, commonly referred to by one of its symptoms, climate change.
And I'm going to lean on a third pretty hard.
First, we assume that row crop mechanised agriculture

David Ho 'Economic value' means 'Causes significant emissions' because it means 'Causes cashflow in the fossil credit banking system' my message. Utility is defined differently. More hope using that and my concept of wealth. Ultimately the 'economy' doesn't add anything we can't have

In this interview w inventor Tom Chi, I was surprised at how many new technologies are both $ profitable and in synergy with ecology/regeneration.

Tom shares his framework on the 'epochs' ahead of us if we're to thrive over time.

Problem: Australia generates lots of cheap, clean renewable energy during the day, but there is high demand in the evening when dirty coal and gas has taken over.

Luckily (for everyone except fossil fuel investors!) we can help fix this by using 'Buildings as Batteries'

Below is a stunningly beautiful video of a starling murmuration. We look at it and detect beauty at how synchronized and flowing it is. But there is no choreography here - only emergence stemming from simple animal behaviors. Each starling follows simple rules:

Isn’t it astonishing how EV sales have tanked, how the market for them has collapsed, how dealers won’t take them as trade-ins, nobody wants this dead-end technology, the mini-disc of transportation, the Edsel of motoring…oh wait…
