though it will only be 92% at Blue Hill, we are excited to watch the eclipse 4/8. We have a good variety of observing tools from inexpensive glasses to solar telescopes and binoculars. The gift shop is open Thursday 10 - 1, Friday Noon-5, Sat & Sunday 10 - 4. Monday 10 to 1:30

Only 0.8' of snow accumulated as of 10am here, but the heavy band has reached the area now, so the total should increase quickly. 32F degrees with heavy snow falling currently.

We established a new record high temperature for yesterday's date here at Blue Hill. The mercury reached 58F (57.7F) at around 3:20pm. This beat the previous record of 56F set in 1909.

To celebrate 139 years the Observatory will be open 10:30 to 3:30 Thursday 2/1. Friday 2/2 we will be set up at Mass Audubon Drumlin Farm to see what Ms. G predicts for the rest of winter.
Saturday 2/3 we’re closed for a teacher training program.
Sunday 2/4 we are open 10 to 4.

It's a winter wonderland here at the top of Blue Hill. 6.8' of snow was measured as of 7am, and it's still snowing steadily. It is a much different story in the surrounding lower elevations.
