“The aggressive progressive Left is driving me to vote for authoritarian” is an oldie but goodie in American politics. It was used in 1948 (when they voted for Strom Thurmond) and in 1968 (when they voted for George Wallace).

I’m not surprised to see it alive & well in 2024.
