The number of Black board appointees shrank in 2022, going from 26% in 2021 to 17% in 2022. Progress is still being made but it’s important that we continue to close the gap on board diversity.

The tone must be set from the top, and in this case, Aviva Board Chair acted swiftly in condemning the statements, exhibiting a lesson in good governance. Examples like these set the tone for and drive awareness for good corporate governance.
