This morning The King was presented with the first banknotes featuring his image during an Audience with Andrew Bailey, Governor of the @BankofEngland, and Sarah John, Chief Cashier and Executive Director of Banking.

Please note, due to transportation strikes the museum will be closed on Monday 8 April. We apologise for any inconvenience and look forward to reopening as usual on Tuesday 9 April.

Today's #OnlineArtExchange is #Music . 🎵 In our (very biased) opinion, the best piece ever composed has to be the Five Pound Polka by Stephen Ralph Glover. The sheet music, which circulated in the 1850s, was sold with a cover that looked like old white fivers.
