This carving is one among a series of miniature sculptures in the 12 century Airavateshwara temple in Darasuram, (a UNESCO World Heritage site) depicting a miracle by Sundaramurti Nayanar. He made a crocodile regurgitate a boy it had eaten, long after the incident happened.

Gudimallam temple was a sight to behold! It is one of the oldest lingams in the country.

Current vimana is gajaprushtakara - distinctly pallava in style.

Since we left real early this morning. We had time. So decided to go to Gudimallam.

And what a drive it was! Rolling hills of the same range as the Tirumala hills, with lakes and fields dotting the countryside!

Finally this morning went to Srikalahasteeshwarar temple (Vayu).

The lord is here with Gnana Prasunambika.

Kannappa offered his eyes to the lord atop the hill behind the temple. The hill itself is considered as Kailasha.

Krishnadevaraya built a 120 ft high gopuram here.

Fri evening came to Kanchipuram to Ekamranathar temple (Bhoomi).

Kanchipuram is kalyanakshetram. There are no separate sannidhis for Amman in the Shiva temples here.

The four branches of the mango tree under which the Lord wed Amman represent the four vedas.

Fri morning to Tiruvannamalai Arunachaleshwarar (fire). The lord is present here with Unnamalai Amman.

The number of mahaans associated with this centre of spirituality is staggering.

Again an architectural and sculptural wonder, the thousand pillared hall is a sight to behold!
