The corporate takeover of universities and their research documented in this report ought to trouble us far more than a bunch of pro-Palestinian students staging a sit in on a campus lawn. But I doubt we'll ever get a Congressional hearing on it.

My dad lives outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The smoke from the fires in Quebec has made its way into the area. The smoke aloft is thick and the red sun proves it. He says it also smells like smoke in the area.

The tragedy in Pakistan is a stark reminder of climate injustice. The top map shows which nations are most responsible for excess emissions. The bottom map shows which nations are most impacted by it. Climate breakdown is playing out along colonial lines.

It still shocks me that the biggest US climate bill of all time earmarked *zero* dollars for greening public schools, which 50 *million* students attend daily. Even when half those schools need major repairs. And are in desperate need of climate justice.

Our 9 climate teachers in Philadelphia, each part of my-climate-story.org, are trying to roll out our climate literacy curriculum this week but can’t. Because schools have to close. Because old building aren’t built for heat. Because climate change.

Thanks to you Luis Melecio-Zambrano for your sensitive reporting & especially for centering teachers’ voices about why we all need more NOW.
P.S.: There’s excessive heat in Philadelphia and most of these schools are even hotter.
