I did a PRA of the The California Coast Commission's fight against AB 1287, which sought to apply Density Bonus Law to the coast - nothing here surprises someone who believes they are ideologically committed preserving authority to stop mixed income projects, but two things stand out:
Records are made to be broken.
Today, Sun Apr. 28, #WindWaterSolar supply exceeded California demand for 9.92 h (8 AM-5:55 PM), breaking yesterday's record of 9.75 h.
Today's peak: 146.7% WWS
15th day in a row and 44th out of 52 days WWS has exceeded demand for part of day
The latest in a series of battery discharge records occurred on California ISO grid last night.
Battery discharge hit an all time high - 6.5 GW - at 8:40 PM. Note that gas usage at this time was under 2GW.
A separate record was set as discharge reached 28% of load.

Supreme Court's recent actions, especially Justice Alito's line of questioning, signal a troubling departure from democratic norms. Prioritizing loyalty to Trump over upholding institutions sets a dangerous precedent. #SupremeCourt

On May 9th, The California Coast will take up an appeal of the Great Highway permit in San Francisco. Staff report is still unavailable but looks like there's a chance the Coastal Commision may shut down the pilot program, remove the traffic calming measures, and return the road to cars.
