News this morning of Sunak’s demonising of ill, disabled and those with mental health challenges + rejection of the European Commission’s mobility proposal to allow 18-30 year olds to live/work in the EU for up to four years is majorly depressing.

UK is heading for disaster.

I absolutely love the expansiveness of this Cassie Kinoshi album. The seed ensemble sounds so good with NikNak and the London Contemporary Orchestra. I just wish this was longer. 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 continues to dominate music.

Ok the idea of finding a “coherent artistic voice” is really stressing me out this week.

Why does Prokofiev sound like Prokofiev, did he ever not sound like “Prokofiev”?

How to be okay with presenting/performing work which is still (intentionally) a part of the process? 🤔

Listened to #RoundMidnight 'round midday with bracing sun-squalls & wind-shine, was blown (sic) away by Cassie Kinoshi's #GilEvans choice and, well, most everything. And Soweto Kinch relaxing into his role. So much #jazz on radio never felt more 'normal'!

Been trying to work out what composition it is I’ve had stuck in my head since I was five (they used to play classical music as the kids walked into assembly at my little primary school)

Hearing that aged five was so magical tho ✨

Finally have time to read “Becoming a composer” by the brilliant Errollyn Wallen it’s such a wonderful and touching read.

The bit I’ve just reached today about having “rice with everything” is so relatable.

We’d have Sunday roast with rice and peas in my house growing up 😂
