8000 saplings were distributed across 3512 polling stations to promote a clean & ethical electoral process during the Lok Sabha polls held in Meghalaya on April 19. The responsibility of planting them was distributed among first two male and female voters in every constituency.

In working towards a Green Lok Sabha Election, at least 7000 saplings were planted by the earliest Voters. A certificate was handed over by the Presiding Officers or Community leaders to the planter.
